Let's Kick Drugs to the Curb!
Red Ribbon Week
October 26-30, 2009
"A Community of Concern"
This year our focus is on helping others in our community! We are taking on TWO service projects, and we need everyone's participation!!!
We have all heard the news about Timothy Robinson, the LeFlore football player who suffered head trauma during a game two weeks ago. Although Timothy is progressing, he remains hospitalized, his family and doctors are preparing for their next step. According to LHS administration, Timothy is a fine young man and a positive leader who as Senior was playing in only his third football game this season. If every Dunbar student gave up his/her ice cream for just one day, we could present Timothy's parents with over $500. This money could go a long way toward his medical expenses.
Our second project is in conjunction with PTO. Dunbar students are asked to bring clean gently-used coats and jackets they have outgrown to be donated to local school children in need of warm outerwear.
