Joseph Jermaine Roberson is a 1999 graduate of Mattie Thomas Blount High School, during my formative years at Blount High; I participate in a variety of extracurricular activities. Most notably, I was a member of the Mobile Kappa League and a charter member of the Health Careers Access Program (Signature Academy).

After high school, I matriculated at Alabama State University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2004. In addition, I hold a Master of Education Degree from the University of South Alabama in Elementary Education (2007) and a Master of Education Degree in School Administration and Supervision from Alabama State University (2009) respectively.

I began my teaching career in Mobile, Alabama in the fall of 2004 at Maryvale Elementary School. While completing my Master’s Degree in School Administration and Supervision, I served as an Administrative Intern at Maryvale Elementary, Pillians Middle School, Williamson High School, and Federal Programs.

“To whom much is given, much is required”, is my personal philosophy as it relates to my community and church involvement. I am a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., I am an advisor for the Mobile Kappa Leadership and Development League. Also, I am a member of the Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association. I reigned as King of Carnival, King of the 69th Presentation of MAMGA’s Royal Court. During my reign as King Elxis I, I was chronicled in the Peabody Award wining documentary “The Order of Myths” I’ve coached Basketball and Baseball for the Optimist Boys and Girls Club, Mobile Parks and Recreation, and Summer Baseball Bay Bears League.

I am a devout and faithful member of the True Light Missionary Baptist Church, I’ve served in many capacities, but I most enjoy working as Church Administrator for my Pastor Rev. Michael A. Howard who is my mentor and 2nd Father. I embrace this opportunity to serve the entire Dunbar Magnet School Community with much gratitude and enthusiasm.
